WHAT IS A DIETITIAN?

Accredited Practising Dietitians (APD’s) are the qualified experts in nutrition. Food is the fuel for our bodies. Dietitians apply the art and science of human nutrition to help people understand the relationship between diet and disease.

In Australia all Dietitians are also Nutritionists. However, Nutritionists without a Dietetics qualification cannot take on the specialized role of a Dietitian. A Dietitian can help you to make dietary choices to attain and maintain health, and to prevent illness and treat specific conditions.

AUSTRALIA TODAY

There is increasing interest in ‘health foods’, supplement suppliers, often-ambiguous marketing of foods and nutrition advice across many forms of media, all providing nutrition information to consumers. With the luxury of readily available and diverse foods, teamed with sedentary lifestyles and consumer confusion about nutrition, we are seeing increasing rates of overweight, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and other chronic diseases.

ADVANCED Nutrition provides only evidence-based nutrition advice, quashing the myths and revealing the facts to support and empower you to improve your health. ADVANCED Nutrition supports our bariatric clients through Central Highlands Surgeons in a non-judgemental and affirming way. We encourage a long-term relationship with food that does not deprive of any food types, and instead focuses on respecting foods that nourish.

WHAT CAN DIETITIANS HELP WITH?

Assisting with weight loss is just one area of a dietitian’s expertise. We are a Dietetics service specialising in chronic disease and can also help you with a wide range of conditions.
