From Farm to Fork is an initiative of Landcare Australia to fundraise and support Australian farmers. My friends recently hosted a Farm to Fork Feast, a fun fundraiser to help farmers respond to the challenges they face while keeping our landscapes productive and healthy.
On Saturday the 19th September, Alistair Jones (an Environmental Scientist and Landcare employee) and his beautiful fiancée Amanda Judson hosted a Farm to Fork Feast. Sourcing produce from the local farmers market they entertained a room of friends and produced a scrumptious variety of flavours over a three-course dinner.
We certainly did wine and dine! Antipasto platter with white bean dip and salsa verde was for entrée, followed by mechoui lamb and roast pork, accompanied by moroccan eggplant bake, artichoke salad and a cauliflower bake. The evening was rounded off with white chocolate cheesecake and dark chocolate and pistachio pavlova. A huge thanks to Al and Amanda for a magnificent night.
This spring Landcare are asking people to host a From Farm to Fork Feast, take the Fresh living challenge or nominate/visit a participating restaurant in their area. It is so important to support our local farmers and Australian produce, and what better way to do it than in the company of great friends and fine food!
